Lahore is the second largest city of Pakistan with a population of more than 6 millions. Being the cultural, historical and art centre of Pakistan, this beautiful city features marvelous sights for the visitors who love sightseeing. Half-day Tour

Badshahi Mosque (built in 1673)
Considered the subcontinent's largest, living, and historical mosque, this Islamic worship centre was constructed using an attractive blend of white marble and red sand stone. The national poet and philosopher Allama Iqbal is buried at its footsteps.

Lahore Fort - Shahi Qila (built from 1566 to 1673)
Marvel of Mughal architecture with its fabulous Shish Mahal (Palace of Mirrors) and superbly preserved Halls of Special Audience. Also experience the pleasure of walking through Pakistani's only surviving Elephant-steps.

Instrument Bazar
Lahore has inherited the strong musical culture from the subcontinent. 1st option
A day through the Old City - Half day visits + as following

Delhi Gate
One of the twelve gates of Lahore, built by the Great Akhbar in 1566. Definitely, one of the most well-preserved and most lively one with its markets all around the place - Pass under this gate from the Moghol period and enter the magic and secret Old City.

Shahi Hammam - Royal Bath
Built during the period of Emperor Shah Jahan, it was used as a public bath containing cold and hot water and steam baths.

Wazir Khan's Mosque (built in 1634)
Hidden within the Old City, this beautiful mosque is called "The Architectural Ornament of Lahore". It is decorated with mosaics and frescoes of infinite variety and colors. With our guide, you access the minaret for a sumptuous overview of the city.

Golden Mosque
On your way to Kasmiri Bazar, you must see the Golden Mosque. Its multicolor paintings and golden domes evoke the lost greatness of the Moghol period.

Kashmiri Bazar
A ladies' shopping bazar, particularly animated during the time of Eid. All is provided for marriages, celebrations, gifts in a typical bazar atmosphere along the tiny streets of the Old City.

Jehangir's Tomb (built in 1637)
In the outskirts of Lahore, the tomb of the fourth Mughal Emperor is set magnificently in the calm surroundings of symmetrical gardens. Presenting a matchless display of mosaics and inlays, an old traveler's motel leads to the stately entrance of the tomb.

Asif Khan's Tomb
Brother of Noor Jehan, his tomb is located close to Jehangir's Tomb. You can notice the once magnificent paintings and mosaics, looted by the Sikh Emperor Ranjit Singh.

Noor Jehan's Tomb
Buried in the basement of a traditional Moghol mausoleum, Emperor Jehangir's sister does not lie in her tomb but is hung vertically in a room.

Shalimar Gardens (created in 1641)
"Shalimar" means "the place of Love and Happiness". With its triple-terraced gardens decorated with marble pavilions, this is one of the world's finest Persian style gardens, laid down by the Emperor Shah Jahan.

Wagha Border - Flag Lowering Ceremony
An impressive and exciting ceremony takes place every day at the Pakistan-Indian border at Wagha, 29 kms far from Lahore. The ceremony begins with the handshake of the captains of the two countries, followed by a fierce martial and war like drill. Watch this unique ceremony which will thrill and excite you. You will never forget it.

One-day trip out of Lahore

Sheikhupura

Situated 35km to the west of Lahore, the city remains an important historical centre in Punjab. During the reign of Emperor Jahangir (1605 to 1627), Sheikhupura had the status of royal hunting ground. You can find there the Castle of Jehangir, decorated with paintings and frescoes and the Sheikhupura For. At Hiran Minar, a colm lake and a forest welcome you with the Deer tomb in the background. In his diary, Jahangir wrote during the events in 1607: "On the day of Tuesday, I reside in Jahangirpura, my hunting ground. According to my order, a Minar and a grave for my deer, Mansraj, were constructed here."

Sufi Spirit

Ali Hajveri - Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh - Data Darbar
Close to Bathi Gate, this shrine shelters the tomb of Data Ganj Baksh, respected and admired Sufi scholar of the 11th century. On Thursdays afternoon, from 2 to 5 pm, traditional qawwali concerts take place where some of the best musicians of Pakistan perform.

Hazrat Baba Shah Jamal Shrine
Live performances happen here every Thursday night from 9pm to 3am. The internationally renowned dhol player Pappoo Saeen is acclaimed here every week, in a tradition that has been going for hundreds of years now.

British Architecture

Mall Road
The main avenue of Lahore features some great buildings from the British colonial style. The General Post Office, the High Court and Lawrence Gardens are typical memories of the British rule. You will see also along the luxurious hotels of Lahore, some prestigious universities and the main cultural happening place.

Lahore Museum (established in 1864)
Displaying a complete cross-section of the culture and history of the region with rare manuscripts, miniatures, Islamic calligraphy, contemporary arts and crafts, Pakistan's finest museum also contains one of the best collection of Buddhist art from the Gandhara period.

 

Food Corner

M.M. Alam Road
Restaurants in Lahore are mainly concentrated at the M.M. Alam Road located near Gulberg. Here more than two dozen world class restaurants are located ranging from western franchises to the very traditional Village restaurant. Whatever your taste, food from all over the world is offered.

Food Streets (Gawalmandi and Old Anarkali)
Lahorites are great "food-lovers", famous for their appetite. Presently, a new trend is given to cater to their taste by introducing the idea of a Food Street. Here, you can enjoy a wide selection of delicious Lahori food served in a traditional way. Environment of illuminated buildings, depicting an old architecture, makes the dining experience memorable.

Cooco's Den
One of Lahore's most famous restaurants is "Cooco's Den", located in the old city just behind the Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort. The restaurant is housed in a 300-year old "Kothi" style house. At different points in the life of this property, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and Muslim families have owned it. The view over the Mosque illuminated is splendid.

Anarkali Bazar
Anarkali bazaar is the most fascinating of the city’s many bazaars. The alleys and lanes of this bazaar are full of exciting wares, especially traditional crafts like leather ware, embroidered garments, glass bangles, beaten gold and silver jewellery, creations in silk.

 

Fortress Stadium
Situated in Cantonment, this high street is bordered by shops, resaurants, music and garments stores.

Liberty Market
The shopping and commercial heart of Gulberg, this famous market features some of the best garment retailers (but also some of the most expensive). Everything can be found in these endless displays of shawls, shoes, jewels, shalwar kamiz and clothes.

South Punjab

In Multan - the city of saints - enjoy some of the most beautiful shrines of Pakistan as well as a living and entertaining city. Take the road to Bahawalpur, threshold of the Cholistan desert. Discover the gigantic Derawar Fort, lost in the desert and surrounded by an amazing tomb and mosque complex. Uch Sharif features an ensemble of shrines visited by hundreds of pilgrims each year. If time is not a problem, the shrine of Sehwan Sharif (Sind) deserves a glance.

NWFP

Peshawar, in the heart of the Pathan lands, a trip there is definitely a must in Pakistan. Its gold, jewels and carpets bazaars are the most famous and renowned. From there, take a daytrip to the Afghan border through the Khyber tribal area and follow the legendary invasions of the subcontinent. Up north, Chitral and the Kalasha Valleys are some of the most fascinating places in Pakistan, with the huge Himalaya chain as a background.
