Mr. Shaukat Hassan

The President of the committee

Mr. Shaukat Hassan holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Punjab University Lahore and is the Director of MAS Group of Companies. Having more than 4 decades of financial and entrepreneurial expertise, he is a self motivated & business passionate. Mr. Shaukat has a proven track record for his excellent business professionalism and he is one of the core partners since the inception of business operations for the Group starting 1976.
His core areas of interests include Financials, Human Resources, Employee training and Talent retention. His diversified skills also include the business development and sales of Industrial equipment to leading E&P Companies Internationally. Mr. Shaukat is actively involved for joint business collaborations with organizations having multi-national presence.
He has been an active member of various profit & non-profit based organization including LCCI, EDAS and currently serving as Director of Pakistan France Business Alliance (PFBA) in Pakistan. He is a choicest mentor and coach for many leading entrepreneurs from the recent times. Apart from his business interests, Mr. Shaukat Hassan is keenly involved in CSR & Sabra Hamida Trust (SHT) activities mainly focused at minimizing the life challenges of financially underprivileged sector of the community.

Mr. Iftikharuddin Riaz

After working as a consultant lawyer for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, Iftikharuddin Riaz moved to Pakistan, where he practiced with some of the leading commercial law firms in the country before establishing Bhandari, Naqvi & Riaz (BNR) in 2003. His areas of expertise include international arbitration (private and public international law), banking, company, construction, corporate, commercial and Constitutional litigation and corporate advisory and transactional services. Chambers and Partners quote clients referring to him as “a really impressive advocate with extraordinary pleading and drafting skills who always tries to cover all aspects of the matter at hand.”
Iftikharuddin Riaz is a Barrister-at-Law and an Advocate of the Supreme Court. He did his schooling at Winchester College in the UK and holds a B.A. (Hons.) and an M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales from the Inner Temple in 1994.

Dr. Khurram Bhatti

General Secretary of the committee

Khurram Bhatti is a Marie-Curie Research Fellow of the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He is an Associate Professor and currently working as Director Research & Development at the Information Technology University (ITU), Lahore. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering and Masters in Embedded Systems from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France. Over the last 15 years, Khurram has been working with prestigious European research institutes like INRIA, Lab-STICC, KTH, École Polytechnique de Paris, LIRMM and LEAT research laboratories. He is an accomplished researcher in the domain of information security in modern computing systems and his scientific research work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Mr. Abbas Ali Khan

(As a Global Leader in Abacus Consulting, Abbas is a member of our Board of Directors and is the executive leader of Abacus Consulting Information Technology Solutions (ITS) vertical. Abbas has founded and brought to market five independent business units/ specialized service areas in Abacus, all of them now considered as market leaders in their own respective space. His areas of focus are Enterprise Solutions, Digital Banking Solutions, Business Process Outsourcing and Public Sector Transformation Solutions. He works across a broad range of industry verticals including Financial Services, Telecom, Public Sector, Consumer Markets, Industrial Goods and the SME Sector. Abbas also serves as a leader in company-wide governance roles such as Monitoring & Evaluation, Industry Specialization, Access-to-Talent and Corporate Information Systems. Before joining Abacus Consulting in the year 2000, he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England. Abbas has Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mathematics and Computation from the University of Oxford.)
