Who
we are?
Alliance Française de Lahore - French Cultural Centre
is a place
of dynamic learning and sharing of experiences. Alliance Française
de Lahore was founded in 1964, with the first ever centre located
in old Anarkali. Since January 2005, the Alliance Française of
Lahore shares its premises with the
Annemarie Schimmel-Haus, its
German counterpart in the capital city of Punjab.
Alliance
Française de Lahore, a non-profit organization, has devoted itself
for over a period of 40 years to promote the French language in
the cultural capital of Punjab. Alliance Française is confined
not only to the teaching of the French language; it has, in addition,
always played an active role in providing quality cultural activities
to Lahoris. These activities caters to the diverse ‘gouts’
of art lovers - concerts from local classical music to pop and
French folk music, theatre plays including contemporary Urdu playwrights
and plays of modern French writers. The art gallery of Alliance
(The Underground) has had the honor of displaying works of a
lot of talented artists.
